Fungi foray

Stinkhorn

We met Tony Leech at one of the Blickling car parks expecting to venture far and wide in search of fungi. To our amazement we did not have to forage very far at all as there were so many species almost under our feet wherever we went: colonies of Sulphur Tuft (Hypholoma fasciculum), False Deathcap (Amanita citrina), Stinkhorn (Phallus impudrius), Beechwood Sickener (Russula nobiles) and a magnificent Artist’s Bracket (Ganoderma adspersum) to name but a few. We could scarcely believe how the time had passed and our thanks to Tony for a fascinating insight to his obvious passion!
